After 41 years serving in senior housing and services, Mike Moore, CEO of United Presbyterian Homes, located in Washington, Iowa, has announced his retirement, effective December 22, 2017. Mike began United Presbyterian Homes in 1975 as COO and was named CEO in 1990. He is a past board chair of PAHSA and has been an active member of the association. During his tenue Mike carried the vision of the United Presbyterian Homes' board of directors to expand the reach to older adults in central Iowa; adding services such as adult day care, a robust wellness program and more, often ahead of senior housing and services industry trends. He recently oversaw the expansion of the Care Center adding 17 new rooms and converting all rooms to private residences. "I didn't do this all by myself," Mike said. "I've been able to build a great team of people." In retirement, Mike will become a member of the United Presbyterian Homes board of directors and continue as a member of the board of Highland Ridge, a Presbyterian Homes & Services community in Williamsburg, IA. An active Shriner, Mike will continue his volunteer leadership to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. He also looks forward to more time to visit his grandchildren in Des Moines, IA and Oregon. The board of directors has announced that Erin Drahota, current COO/Assistant Administrator, will suceed Mike as CEO of United Children's Hospital. Erin has been with United Presbyterian Home since 2010.
